SeniorMinistryIsLifeEnhancing
Our Senior Adult group (age 50 and older) is called the S.M.I.L.E. group. Our purpose is to reach any senior citizen that would like to have a good meal, good fellowship in a Christian atmosphere, and share our attitude of thankfulness for all the blessings we have in our senior years. Our time together is a time for sharing and building friendships. We have a wonderful time!
We meet monthly for lunch, usually on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at noon. Our meal is usually a potluck affair with lots of wonderful foods. Sometimes it may be Soup & Sandwiches; other times we may choose a Mexican Food theme. ALWAYS there are delicious desserts! Following lunch we have a brief meeting and a devotional.
From time to time we schedule a day trip to a place of interest in the area. We have visited the Will Rogers home and museum in Claremore, the Azalea Festival in Muskogee, Grand Lake, the Talimena Drive to see fall foliage, and more. On a recent trip in April, 2010, we went down Talimena Drive and had lunch at the Queen Wilhelmina Restaurant. We welcome any senior adults to join us for lunch or a trip.
Check the church calendar or call the church office, (918) 775-2538 for meeting information.
