 FUMC Sallisaw Youth Ministries

      Our Heart & Mission
Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.  We also desire to impart a vision for ministry and to inspire a passion for living as the body of Christ.  Our students and leaders join in ministry by helping others, building friendships, and doing whatever it takes to carry the cross together.

Sunday Morning
We meet at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday mornings in the youth room for doughnuts before beginning our lesson time.  Our lessons are derived from Scripture and focus on how our youth can grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.  We also have a time of fellowship to play games including Foos Ball, Air Hockey, and Wii games!

Sunday Evening Youth Events
Our Youth Group includes students in grades seven through twelve and meets on Sunday evenings.  The Youth Praise Band, 98:4, rehearses from 4:00-5:00 p.m.  Youth who are not involved in the Praise Band also gather for Lounge Time from 4:00-5:00 p.m.  The Youth Group meets from 5:00-6:30 p.m.  The activities vary weekly from worship to recreation and guest speakers, but every week is a wonderful oppotunity for fellowship and faith development.  We gather for supper each week, and friends are always welcome!
Unless noted otherwise, we always begin and end events in the youth room (room 216).

  4:45-5:30 -- Children's Choir II & Homework/Study
  5:30-6:00 -- Wacky Wednesday Meal
  6:00-7:00 -- Wacky Wednesday Children's Classes

Adult/Parent Volunteer Opportunity
Food is a vital part of students' lives, and there is always an opportunity for you to volunteer to cook one of our snack suppers!  If you are interested in providing a light dinner for about 25 students on a Sunday evening, please e-mail Jennifer at jenniferhart@diamondnet.us We provide all paper products, drinks and have plenty of cooking space -- ALL WE NEED IS THE FOOD!!

Monthly  Mission
Each month we go out to be in mission to our community.  In the last year we have reached out to people in our community by visiting Sequoyah Manor Nursing Home, visiting homebound members of our church, collecting food for Catholic Charities Food Bank, and by cleaning a park and roadsides in Sallisaw

     Get Connected
The Youth Group at FUMC Sallisaw offers teens the opportunity to connect in a setting of Spiritual growth and discipleship.  Jennifer Hart, our Youth Minister, leads by example in guiding students into a closer relationship with God.  Come "get connected" in an atmosphere of Christian love and devotion.
