The organized unit of the United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
The United Methodist Women of First United Methodist Church participate in many varied activities. The UMW provide bereavement dinners, host receptions, and support the following:

Neighborhood Services Organization (Oklahoma City)
Boy's Ranch
Children's Home

Boys & Girls Club of Sallisaw
Community Food Distribution through Catholic Charities
Clearinghouse Backpack Program for Local Kids
Camp & Retreat Ministries -- Ray of Light
