Music Ministry

The music ministry at First United Methodist Church is in the capable hands of Keri Cousins, our Director of Music Ministry. She is a joy to work with and brings out the best in everyone. Our music ministry has opportunities for people of all ages. We welcome all who are interested in worshipping God through music. Our current musical groups are the Adult Choir, the Instruments of Praise Band, the 98:4 Youth Praise Band, and two Children's Choirs. There are also opportunities throughout the year for solos, duets, or other small groups to provide special music for our Sunday worship service.

The Adult Choir sings all styles of music. The group rehearses during the school year on Wednesday nights from 7:00-8:00 p.m. in the Choir Room. The choir sings an anthem each Sunday during the 10:50 a.m. worship service and provides special programs for Christmas and Easter. Anyone who enjoys singing and great fellowship is welcome to join us.

The Instruments of Praise Band is an ensemble which accompanies the congregation each Sunday during the 10:50 a.m. worship service and provides special music throughout the year. The group rehearses on Wednesday nights from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. If you sing or play an instrument and enjoy leading worship music, this group will welcome your participation.

The 98:4 Youth Praise Band plays for Youth Group and other special occasions during the year. The group rehearses before Youth Group on Wednesdays from 5:00-5:45 p.m. in the sanctuary. Any 7th - 12th graders who sing or play an instrument and are interested in leading Youth music activities are welcome to join us.

Children's Choir I welcomes 3rd-6th graders to come to rehearsal during the school year on Wednesdays from 4:00-4:45 p.m. in the children's music room. The Choir sings all styles of worship music and performs on second Sunday of each month during Sunday morning worship.

Children's Choir II is for all 4 year olds - 2nd graders and rehearses during the school year on Wednesdays from 4:45-5:30 p.m. in the children's music room. The Choir sings all styles of worship music and performs on the third Sunday of each month during Sunday morning worship. All children who wish to participate are welcome.
